Master Bath

A master bath, once a huge luxury has now become a must have for most home buyers. I know for us, it was definitely something I wasn't willing to settle without. What we got, wasn't exactly what I had in mind though. It was small, outdated, and dark. That said, it was a toilet that came in handy when finding out I was pregnant soon after moving in.

Here's what we started with:

Unfortunately, we are still stuck with this gorgeous frosted shower door, but its hidden over to the side and the rest of the renovation makes up for it.

Step 1 was to brighten up the space and a beautiful yellow paint and white trim started that off. We also needed somewhere to put clean towels so that we didn't have to stack them on the floor anymore. We easily changed out the oak and gold hardware (towel racks and toilet paper holder) for a sleek brushed nickel.

We stayed in this phase for quite a while. Which was fine, just adding the color and the new nickel hardware made such a dramatic change.

Phase 2 came from yet another pinterest inspiration that can be found here. I had seen a couple pins with dramatic kitchen and bathroom make overs and it seemed easy. Most amazing $10 I ever spent.

I was so pleased with how the vanity came out, we decided to just finish it up. We replaced the counter top, sink, faucet, lights, and I painted the mirror. After all was said and done, the old toilet just didn't look right, so we went ahead and replaced that too.

Here is the master bath renovation. A little more money than we had anticipated, but in the long run I know this is worth it. All the experts say, kitchens and bathrooms give the best returns. And for less than $1,000 I think we really changed the entire look of this bathroom.
